Vauxhall labels these circuits “Door locks” (2010–2016 handbooks) or “Central locking system” (2016–2020 handbooks).

Vauxhall’s handbook doesn’t print fuse ratings, so none is shown. Fit a replacement with the same rating as the fuse you remove — the handbook says: “Data on the replacement fuse must match the data on the defective fuse.”

  1. Pull the cover on the left side to remove.
  2. After having changed defective fuses, close the fuse box cover:
  3. 1. Apply the cover on the right side.
  4. 2. Fold the left side of the cover forwards.
  5. Take care that the securing clamp is guided as shown in the illustration.

The map shows where each fuse sits. Always confirm the number against the legend on the fuse box cover before pulling anything.

How to replace the fuse safely

  1. Switch off the ignition and all electrical equipment. Take the key out, or move a keyless fob away from the car.
  2. Open the fuse box and find the fuse using the number on the cover legend or the chart on this page.
  3. Pull the fuse straight out with the plastic fuse puller (usually clipped inside the fuse box) or fine-nose pliers.
  4. Look at the metal strip inside the fuse. A broken or burnt strip means it has blown.
  5. Fit a new fuse with exactly the same amperage rating. The number on top and the colour should match.
  6. Refit the cover, switch on and test the component.
  • Never fit a fuse with a higher amperage rating than specified. It can let wiring overheat.
  • Never bridge a fuse with wire, foil or anything else.

Fuse keeps blowing?

A fuse that blows again straight away is doing its job. Something on that circuit is drawing too much current. Common causes are damaged wiring shorting to the bodywork, a failing motor or socket, water getting in, or a faulty accessory. Fitting fuse after fuse, or a bigger fuse, won’t fix the fault and can overheat the wiring. Have the circuit tested by an auto electrician.

Not the fuse? Check these next.

  • Several fuses

Vauxhall can list the door locks on a fuse shared with the body control module. Check every fuse shown.

  • Key battery

If the remote won’t work but the key does in the door, try a new battery in the key first.

  • One door only

If just one door won’t lock, the door lock actuator is more likely than a fuse.

Fuse layouts can differ between trim levels and optional equipment. Always confirm against the legend on your fuse box.
