Partly covered: this page shows Ford’s Fiesta (2012) data only. Ford UK also lists Fiesta (2017) and Fiesta Vignale (2017) owner’s manuals for 2017, which we haven’t verified yet. If your car is one of those, this chart may not apply — check your owner’s manual or fuse box legend.

How to replace the fuse safely
- Switch off the ignition and all electrical equipment. Take the key out, or move a keyless fob away from the car.
- Open the fuse box and find the fuse using the number on the cover legend or the chart on this page.
- Pull the fuse straight out with the plastic fuse puller (usually clipped inside the fuse box) or fine-nose pliers.
- Look at the metal strip inside the fuse. A broken or burnt strip means it has blown.
- Fit a new fuse with exactly the same amperage rating. The number on top and the colour should match.
- Refit the cover, switch on and test the component.
- Never fit a fuse with a higher amperage rating than specified. It can let wiring overheat.
- Never bridge a fuse with wire, foil or anything else.
Checking the relay
- With the ignition off, pull the relay straight out of its socket. Rock it gently if it is tight.
- Relays rarely look damaged when they fail. To test, swap in an identical relay with the same part number from a non-essential circuit.
- If the fault moves to the other circuit, replace the relay. If it doesn’t, the problem is elsewhere.
Fuse keeps blowing?
A fuse that blows again straight away is doing its job. Something on that circuit is drawing too much current. Common causes are damaged wiring shorting to the bodywork, a failing motor or socket, water getting in, or a faulty accessory. Fitting fuse after fuse, or a bigger fuse, won’t fix the fault and can overheat the wiring. Have the circuit tested by an auto electrician.
Not the fuse? Check these next.
Only the top speed works
If the fan only runs on its highest setting, the blower resistor is the usual cause, not the fuse.
Blocked pollen filter
A clogged cabin filter cuts airflow and makes the blower work harder.
Noisy or seized blower
Leaves or debris in the blower can jam it and blow the fuse again.
